The Detroit Lions selection of Oklahoma WR Ryan Broyles in the 2nd round might turn out to be one of the best Day 2 picks. Broyles is a smaller receiver at only 5'10", but could start the season either opposite Calvin Johnson as the #2 WR, or opposite Titus Young in the slot (who was selected in the 2nd round in 2011, and finished the season with 607 yards and 6 TDs).

Cleveland's trade to move up to #3 to secure Alabama's Trent Richardson set the tone for the night. What might initially have seemed unnecessary and an almost "paranoid" move (it was highly unlikely Minnesota would've taken a RB with the 3rd pick), with the way the 1st round played out and the sheer amount of trades that took place, the trade looks more like an acceptable cost to get Richardson.
